Recently I’ve been doing a lot of work for the international home furnishings store, ABC Carpet & Home. They have a whole building on 19th and Broadway in NYC (their location for over 65 years), two other stores in the tri-state area, a store in Florida and two stores in England including a space in Harrods, the famous luxury department store.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph the Vice Chairman of ABC Carpet (and fellow British expat), Graham Head, for Elle Decor Germany.
So I realized I haven’t been using the awesome creative outlet that is a blog like I should be. It has been since mid-July that I posted something of substance and well… that is pretty poor. So I thought I’d update you all on that I have been up to. The title sort of says it all, but let me flesh that out for you:
I was featured on Behance’s Photography Served. A curated site highlighting top level photography from around the world. This was awesome, because the featured project has now received over 1700 hits! Where as all my other projects are at around 50 off of just my own meager marketing platforms. (Twitter mostly… follow me?)
If you don’t know what Behance is, check it out. If you are a creative and want to join the Behance Creative Network to display your portfolio and have the chance to get on one of the Served sites, let me know and I can invite you to join.
I got to photograph Mike Posner for College Magazine a few weeks back. My first images in a printed publication! A recent grad of Duke University, this summer his single “Cooler than Me” off his debut album 31 Minutes to Takeoff, peaked at #6 on the Billboard charts. Check out the article online here.
I also got a chance to get away to Lake George with my stunningly beautiful fiance (oh right… I also got engaged as of July 25th) and a large portion of her extended family which was fun, and also insightful. Being around someones family sure does explain a lot ; ) All kidding aside, I think a great time was had by all. I have yet to mine the spoils that I caught on film (or CF card more accurately) but when I do, I will be sure to post more than these few…
… as well as… Weddings! Where would emerging photographers be during the summer months without weddings? Here are also a few images from two weddings I shot recently, both of which were for friends of ours.
Well now I have you updated. Lets try and stay up to date huh? I’ll do my best to update more regularly and you, well… keep checking out my posts. It’s going to be fun! I promise.
Later gators.
